Blackberry 10

Blackberry 10 atau perangkat baru dari RIM berbasis OS 10 telah di luncurkan 30 januari lalu di New York, USA.
Setelah hampir 1 tahun vakum dari persaingan smartphone, RIM nampaknya sudah menyiapkan senjata baru mereka. Pihak RIM berharap, dengan di luncurkannya produk Blackberry baru mereka bisa bersaing dengan Apple maupun Android.
Sudah hampir setahun terakhir ini, Android dan Apple mengakuisisi posisi pertama dan kedua utk pasar smartphone yg paling banyak di gunakan org saat ini.
Type blackberry yang diluncurkan ada dua, Blackberry Z10 yg mengusung teknologi full touchscreen dan Blackberry Q10 yang masih mempertahankan keyboard seperti pendahulu sebelumnya, secara keseluruhan spesifikasi dari kedua type diatas hampir sama. Utk Z10 sudah tersedia dan bisa di pesan (di Indonesia mungkin akhir februari baru launching), sedangkan utk type Q10 bru akan dipasarkan sekitar bulan maret.
Perubahan yg di lakukan pihak RIM cukup signifikan, bisa kita lihat mereka sudah menggunakan processor dual core 1,5ghz, memory RAM 2GB, Flash memory 16GB (support memory card), kamera utama 8mp dan kamera depan 2mp yg bisa di gunakan sebagai kamera kedua dan utk video call.

Pada saat acara peluncuran, pihak RIM juga mengumumkan perubahan nama perusahaan dari RIM menjadi Blackberry. Selain itu mereka juga memperkenalkan penyanyi kondang Alicia Keys sebagai Global Creative Director baru mereka.

Secara keseluruhan, banyak yg berpendapat handset ini bekerja dengan baik, namun seperti sebuah pekerjaan yang belum selesai. Ada beberapa yang bisa disukai, termasuk desain keyboard virtual yg bsa menampilkan kosakata saat pengetikan, videocall lewat BBM dan kamera dengan teknologi time shift yang tidak akan melewatkan semua momen saat proses pengambilan foto, serta caranya menghimpun semua pesan dalam sebuah Hub.
Namun ia meluncur dengan aplikasi lebih sedikit dibanding kompetitor dan belum ada beberapa aplikasi populer, terhitung ada 70ribu aplikasi yg siap di download pengguna. Selain itu juga belum tersedianya ekosistem berbasis cloud untuk menyimpan dan berbagi file, seperti Apple iCloud atau Google Drive.
Namun Z10 dan BlackBerry 10 merepresentasikan kelahiran kembali BlackBerry. Hardwarenya lumayan dan user interfacenya secara umum mudah digunakan.
